Our Story

I founded LifeJourneys Media to help people rescue, preserve and share their life stories and family history. For years I led lifestory-telling workshops. I saw how incredibly powerful it was to capture and share life stories but afterwards so many of the participants wanted to continue on their own – and couldn’t.

I remember one woman said to me, I tried and tried but I can’t get past second grade! And hiring someone to write it is expensive and, of course, not authentic. Who better to write your story than you?

My deep dive questions built upon each other, were pulling out long-forgotten memories and were guiding people in telling their life story. I realized I had developed a lifestory-telling system.

I asked Dr. Amira Paz, a gerontologist and owner of Healthy Aging, a geriatric medical center, to partner with me to create a simple-to-use, affordable and enjoyable digital platform that seniors can use, on their own or with assistance, to write their life story. The result is My LifeStory.

Each of us holds the key to our priceless LifeStories – the stories of your own life and our family who came before, who they were and where they came from. There are powerful lessons that their life stories and your own have to teach your children and grandchildren. Because, even though this is your story, it’s your children’s and grandchildren’s heritage. And you are the only one who can give it to them.

And when you give your family the gift of your past, something magical happens – you get the greater gift. You begin to truly understand your own journey. You begin to see the lessons you’ve learned along the way, you remember things you haven’t thought of in years and you see your life as the journey that it really is.
